Some of you are being asked to do communications work for the first time. Others have been at it a while but feel like you’re drowning in requests and details. No matter what you are working on, there are a few really simple elements to this nonprofit communications work that you can always use to ground yourself and to create a strong foundation for your work.
The bad news? Tens of millions are out of work worldwide due to the COVID-19 crisis. The good news? The economy will eventually bounce back and a record number of new employment opportunities will be available and many of these future jobs will be remote. Nonprofits that embrace flexible work movement experience many benefits , such as increased productivity and retention and decreased expenses and pollution contribution.
I'm hitting pause on the videos I've been doing the past couple of weeks. Instead, I'm freeing up my calendar so I can talk to as many of you as possible on Zoom about what's happening with your nonprofit and answering any questions you might have. I just want to be helpful! We can talk about sponsorship, cause marketing, content marketing or share our tips on hiding from our fellow cellmates during these trying times.
The fight against coronavirus is all of ours together. Our assurance solely lies in the fact that we won’t be giving up any time soon. Back in March, IZEA Worldwide, Inc released a special report that examined how people thought they would use social media over the next few months or so if they were under a lockdown order. They found: 66% of social media users believe their social media usage habit will increase in the event they are confined to their home due to the Coronavirus. 64% expect their usage of YouTube to increase, only 2% expect a decrease. 63% expect their usage of Facebook to increase

If you follow email marketing best practices, you should have at least a couple of automated processes set up like welcome emails when someone signs up for your e-newsletter or receipts for online donations. If you haven’t already, CHECK THOSE EMAILS to make sure they don’t come across as tone deaf to what’s going on in our world right now.
