Major Donor Retention – What’s Holding It Back?

Donor retention statistics continue to worsen, with 2022 showing the lowest overall rate ever recorded, at 42.6%, according to the Fundraising Effectiveness Project. This applies to donors across the board, from low-dollar donors to major donor retention. But that’s not all we need to be concerned about. The FEP also reported that while the number of donors from 2012 to 2022 declined by 19%, the overall amount of money given rose 69%.
